Bill Sowell is the founder of Trek Wealth Solutions and serves as Chief Strategy Officer, guiding the firm’s long-term vision and philosophy. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1990 and quickly became a top producer, building deep, trusted relationships with clients and families over decades of service.
In 1995, Bill launched a fee-only wealth management practice—one of the early pioneers in the independent advisory space—grounded in a simple belief: financial planning should help people live fuller, more intentional lives. That practice would later become Sowell Management, while Trek Wealth Solutions was established to serve clients directly through a personalized, relationship-driven approach to wealth management.
Throughout his career, Bill has worked closely with individuals and families navigating life’s most important transitions—retirement, legacy planning, business succession, and generational wealth. His client relationships are built on trust, long-term perspective, and a deep understanding that wealth is a means to support the life clients want to live, not the goal itself.
Bill believes strongly in what he calls “bucket list living”—the idea that thoughtful financial planning empowers clients to live with purpose, confidence, and clarity at every stage of life. This philosophy continues to guide Trek Wealth Solutions today, shaping how the firm partners with clients to align financial decisions with what matters most.
Bill has deep roots in the community and a longstanding commitment to service. He has served as past president of the Rotary Club of Little Rock, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow, and as past chair and board member of Leadership Greater Little Rock. He has also served on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations. In recognition of his leadership and impact, Bill was named Arkansas Business Executive of the Year (2020), honored by AY Magazine as a Man of Distinction (2021), and recognized by AMP as an Arkansas Visionary (2024).
Outside of work, Bill enjoys golfing, boating, and duck hunting, and values time spent with family and friends.
“I have been blessed to do a lot of wonderful things in my life, from visiting incredible places around the world to playing amazing golf courses – even meeting people like Steph Curry and Nelly Korda. My wife, Cindy, and I have been fortunate to share some of our trips with our children. I hunt with my favorite hunting partner, my son, Evan. One of the craziest things we’ve done was my daughter Abby’s idea – open ocean diving with sharks in Hawaii! I have to admit, it was one of the most exhilarating things I’ve ever done.”
