A native of Northern California, Daryl began his career in financial services in 2000 with a Fortune 100 company in Sacramento, California. Swiftly becoming a top producer, he advanced into senior leadership roles with responsibility for recruiting, developing, and leading more than 150 financial advisors overseeing in excess of $1 billion in assets under care.
Driven by a desire for independence and a more advisor-centered model, Daryl later launched his own firm—first as a hybrid and then as a registered investment advisor. It was during this period that he began a long-standing partnership with Sowell Management, grounded in a shared commitment to advisor independence and long-term growth.
After a successful eight-year relationship, Daryl joined Sowell Management in 2020, initially serving as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he played a central part in strengthening the firm’s operating foundation and supporting sustained growth across the platform. In 2023, he was named President, and in 2026, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer as part of a long-planned leadership evolution.
As President & CEO, Daryl provides enterprise leadership across Sowell Management and its affiliated platforms, including Trek Wealth Solutions, where he remains closely involved with advisors—supporting growth pathways, succession planning, and scalable infrastructure designed to meet advisors where they are and help take them where they want to go.
Daryl’s leadership has been recognized across the industry. In 2025, he was honored by Wealth Solutions Report as one of the Top Wealth Management COOs in the country—recognition reflecting his ability to lead complex organizations while staying deeply connected to advisors and partners.
With more than two decades of experience, Daryl continues to work directly with advisors and clients alike, bringing a steady, service-oriented approach to building businesses that endure.
Outside of work, Daryl is an outdoor enthusiast and a lover of food and wine. He and his wife, Tammy, are raising their two sons, Jake and Nate, instilling in them strong character and faith—his greatest source of pride and joy.
“There’s nothing more important than family, and I enjoy spending time with my boys sharing experiences they will remember. We hike often, but one special memory is a two-day hike in the Tahoe National Forest. We got off-grid with no email and no cell phones — just the three of us enjoying time together.”
